#1 Find an accountability buddy!
Working out alone can be so boring!
Maybe get a friend and start light by going put put golfing, or playing a game of horse on the basketball court.
Your still walking right? Your still creating a new healthy habit! Give yourself a break and be happy with small victories!
If your way out of shape the chances of you going on a mile run without stopping by yourself is unrealistic..
Do yourself a hugh favor and find yourself a gym buddy...
After you start with your small victories maybe you can get a gym membership and sign up for a beginner group fitness class with your buddy.
Imagine how you would feel in a year if you consistently went to a group fitness class twice a week!
It could be transformational.
#2 Set Realistic and Appropriate Goals!
An unrealistic and inappropriate goal can set you up for big failure, and put you in the wrong mindset.
I always tried to make goals of making all my track practices instead of setting up a sprint time that I wanted to achieve.
I said to myself. I'm going to make every track practice, do every drill and sprint to the best of my ability, and to never miss a day in the weight room, and go H.A.M! Lol
I knew that the only way possible to get faster was to train hard, be consistent, believe in myself, and in my coaches.
I made major improvements with my athleticism throughout high-school and was starter at saftey my Jr. and Sr. year dispite injuries and even played through a major lower back injury my senior year. My work ethic in the off-season and my mindset/conditioning is what got me through the hard times. I even made an awesome tackle behind the backfield in the playoffs, and was all over the field in the only playoff game we won that season.
I wanted to give up... I really wanted to quit.. But I kept telling myself that I have to be ready to play for the team. We all worked so hard as a team and I knew I had to be ready.
After the season I was awarded with the "Most Heart" Award by my teammates and coaches. That mean't alot to a linebacker because you put your heart and soul into the game..
It all started with the way I set goals and trained.. I didn't set goals like I want to run a 4.4 forty or squat 500lbs.
I simply just set goals that I was never going to miss a practice and that I was going to give it my 100 percent effort every day, every drill, every moment.
Since I was a chubby linebacker, after high-school I wanted to shead some of the baby fat.
I made the same type of goals.
I didn't make it a goal to get a six pack or lose 20lbs.
I simply made it a goal to stick to my meal plan and never miss a workout and go HAM every day.
I never got a 6 pack but I had a 2 pack Lol.
I still got really lean down to 167lbs and was in great shape.
Change the way you think about your goals and your will reach your full potential.
